Kiddnation celebrated Regina Stewman, Sonora Elementary School principal, on the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show.
The school supports area families with a mobile library during the summer, Stewman said.
“We drive a donated mini van through a planned route in our attendance area to help prevent the summer reading slump. We know that students need access, choice and time to read," Stewman said. "This also allows the teachers to check up on students and families, as well as continue to build relationships. Our teachers take turns to run this route, which goes throughout the summer. We love having our previous students come find us."
Stewman won $500 for her school through the recognition, according to the Kiddnation website.
"This $500 would allow us to purchase newly released books for the mobile library, which has not been updated in about two years, she said.
