Due to shortage of bus drivers bus # 123 will not be running, Monday November 8th. Please make arrangements for pick up and drop off from your building.
Sonora Elementary in Springdale, Arkansas serves a high percentage of poverty students. During the holidays, this can become a big challenge. It weighs heavy on our hearts to only select a few families to receive help during the holidays. Several years ago we decided to make a change in how we approached Christmas. Instead of selecting only a few to receive gifts, we decided to make sure every student received a gift for Christmas from their school family and community partners. This year we are providing 'Scholar Games'. Our goal is to give each child a game that encourages perseverance, imagination, tinkering as well as promoting a growth mindset. This will engage and entertain our students and their families for the two weeks they are away from school, hopefully creating some wonderful memories. In addition, for many of our students school is the main source of food during the week. Two weeks away can be very hard on some of our families. Please consider giving to our cause and helping our students have a Merry Christmas. You are free to contact Sonora directly (479-750-8820). Thank you for your consideration!
